26 unique performers competed in a match on the main card of Money in the Bank 2021.
With that in mind, let’s take a look at which performers have currently wrestled on the most consecutive pay-per-view (PPV) events at the conclusion of July 2021. The only rules are that the superstar must have wrestled for more than zero seconds on the main card of the PPV (sorry, pre-show fans), and typical 24/7 title shenanigans will be ignored.
Here are the active streaks coming out of this pay-per-view:
- 11 events – Drew McIntyre
- 4 events – Lashley, Ripley
- 3 events – Charlotte Flair
- 2 events – Rollins, Bliss, Owens
- 1 event – A.S.H., Asuka, Morgan, Naomi, Natalya, Tamina, Vega, Styles, Omos, Erik, Ivar, Kingston, Big E, Morrison, Nakamura, Ricochet, Riddle, Reigns, Edge
And here are the streaks that ended at Money in the Bank:
- 6 events – Bianca Belair
- 3 events – Cesaro
- 2 events – Bayley
- 1 event – Baszler, Zayn
Nobody comes within striking distance of Drew McIntyre’s lengthy streak of 11 events, which began in September 2020. The next longest streaks (Bobby Lashley, Rhea Ripley) began just a few months ago at WrestleMania 37.
Bianca Belair’s streak of six consecutive events came to an end at Money in the Bank mostly due to Bayley’s major injury. Belair did end up defending the SmackDown women’s championship against Carmella, but the match took place on television rather than pay-per-view.
Cesaro’s streak ended at three events in July. The Swiss Superman has become an afterthought since he lost against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania Backlash. Within a matter of months, he went from defeating Seth Rollins at WrestleMania to failing to qualify for the Money in the Bank ladder match.
What do you think about this list of active streaks, Cagesiders? Which wrestler is most likely to fall off the list at SummerSlam?
