Conditions: Overcast skies with high visibility, fresh snow on top of perfect corduroy, heavy pow off the run, and chunder in the trees.

Flex: This board is slightly past a middle of the road all mountain freestyle flex. Basically they beefed it up compared to last years. You do get a little more play in the tip and tail right where the rocker section is then through the camber section it is noticeably stiffer. There’s a fair amount of torsional flex but nothing that is overwhelming or over powering.

Stability: There’s a little chatter in the tips on groomers but that’s completely gone by the time it hits the insert pack. Only in really rutted out terrain do you start to notice this board not absorbing it. This deck can plow through crappy snow with ease and stay on top of it without kicking out.

Ollies: With a little bit more camber you get an area you need to load up just a tad more. The snap is there and what you put in is exactly what you get out of it. The nice thing is with the longer camber zone you move the actuation point on the rocker further outside the inserts this creates a nice area where the board engages the snap. It gives it a more skate like feel but still retains the pop of camber through the mid section.

Pop On Jumps: It’s got enough to get the job done and then some. But much like loading up to pop off a roller what you put in is what you get.

Butterability: The rocker in the nose and tail give this board a sweet spot for locking into presses. You notice right away that you can lock in with relative ease and the rebound is there but not over powering so you can hold a butter any way you want.

Jibbing: That sweet spot holds a press with minimal effort but gives you enough snap to pop out of the end of a feature. Do you have to be a little more precise with it? Sure, but that’s not anything to worry about. Going sideways that longer camber section in the middle hugs around a feature and lets you slide easily enough.

Carving: With more camber in the board this year you get more drive and a longer section to flex in the middle of the board. This changes the dynamic of how it carves, it doesn’t rail and flex as much as previous iterations. You will notice right away that there is a limitation to this board. Is that bad? No because it makes the more swooping dynamic carves where you go from one side of the run to other feel more locked in. They also changed the serrated edge tech on this board so it’s more mellow under foot and aggressive in the middle. This helps when you disengage your front foot and drive from the center of the board as it locks in from the center through the tail and keeps you on edge. Overall short quick carves to long drawn out hard carves are its strong suit. You really only notice an issue when you’re trying to put it on edge and lay your whole body on the snow.

Personal Thoughts: Well this was a nice revamp of this board as last years was probably the worst iteration of the One I’ve ridden in years. It’s stiffer and more to where it needs to be. The tweaks in the camber and sidecut manifest itself beautifully when you’re looking to charge and need more grip on edge. While not as playful as other version this is more refined to make it a true all mountain freestyle board.
