The Australian Opals will open their FIBA Asia Cup campaign in the early hours of Tuesday morning AEST, in what will be their first national appearance since the Tokyo Olympics.
The team arrived in Amman Jordan at the end of last week, with Sami Whitcomb ready to lead from the front as Captain after joining the girls after her WNBA season with New York Liberty wrapped up on Friday.
Split into a two-group system, Australia will compete with China (ranked 7th), Chinese Taipei (34th) and the Philippines (51st) before hopefully progressing to the knock-out rounds.
The top four teams will book their spot at the Sydney FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup 2022 Qualifying Tournaments.
All the games will be broadcast live across Fox Sports.
