First of all, you are allowed to believe Djokovic is childish for smashing rackets and that it sets a bad precedent. You are also allowed to believe that it contradicts his comments about pressure being a privilege. I don’t agree with either, but there are arguments to be made for both.
However, nobody should be happy about his comments being linked to Simone Biles and Naomi Osaka.
It is pretty clear that Djokovic was talking about himself – but to have this quote twisted out of context so badly is embarrassing. The worst is people like Charlotte Clymer saying it is aboutIf you are a fan of the sport, then you shouldn’t be okay about one of its ambassadors falsely being used for a narrative regarding sexism. Even if you like Federer or Nadal and love when Novak gets hate. I’ve had Federer fans who hate Djokovic post on their socials of how this is fake news and that is what it SHOULD be. When you put the sport first you favor honesty towards its players.
