Rockies: Fan yelled for mascot, didn’t use racial slur

The fan accused of calling Miami Marlins outfielder Lewis Brinson the N-word might have actually been calling for the Colorado Rockies dinosaur-themed mascot “Dinger” at Coors Field on Sunday night.

The Rockies also told reporters Monday, including KUSA-TV’s Steve Staeger, that the fan was yelling for “Dinger” and did not use a racial slur following a further investigation.
