Yankees infielder DJ LeMahieu heading to injured list

New York Yankees infielder DJ LeMahieu is going on the injured list because of a sports hernia.

Boone: “We just feel like he is too compromised right now.”

Said that LeMahieu could be available for a potential ALCS.

LeMahieu sat out the past two games — both of which were Yankees losses as New York failed to solidify a playoff spot.

The Yankees have said LeMahieu will need off-season surgery to fully address the issue.

The three-time all-star is batting .268 with four homers and 57 RBI this season.
