The Week 2 SEC schedule features a pivotal SEC East matchup between Kentucky and Missouri.
The winner will be in position to compete in the top half of the division in 2021. The Tigers won their opener 34-24 against Central Michigan. Kentucky routed UL-Monroe 45-10. The quarterback matchup between Missouri’s Connor Bazelak and Kentucky’s Will Levis could produce a shootout.
That’s one of 10 games where SEC schools are playing FBS opponents this week. Alabama, Auburn, LSU and Ole Miss have FCS opponents in Week 2.

SEC best bets for Week 2
Kentucky (-4.5) over Missouri
The Tigers broke a string of five consecutive losses to the Wildcats with a 20-10 victory last season. The return trip to Lexington won’t be as easy, not with Will Levis and the supporting cast of Christopher Rodriguez Jr., Josh Ali and Wan’Dale Robinson. Kentucky is 8-3 ATS as a home favorite since 2019, and we like them to keep that trend rolling in the right direction against Missouri, especially if they bottle up the running game early.
South Carolina (+2.5) over East Carolina
It’s a lightweight upset pick, but Zeb Noland tossed four TDs in Shane Beamer’s debut and the Gamecocks flashed enough talent on the defensive side to make you believe they can go to East Carolina and win. The Pirates have a solid QB in Holton Ahlers and will be content to air it out. South Carolina has won the last four meetings and will steal this one with Carolina pride on the line.
NC State at Mississippi State (Over 55.5)
NC State put up 45 points and 525 yards of offense in their opener, and Zonovan Knight averaged 10.2 yards per carry. The Wolfpack are a balanced offense that can put a ton of points, and that means a shootout is coming with Mississippi State. The Bulldogs rallied from a 20-point fourth-quarter deficit to beat Louisiana Tech in a 35-34 thriller in Week 1, and Will Rogers passed for 370 yards and three TDs. This should be one of the most-entertaining games of Week 2. We also like the Wolfpack to cover the 2.5-point spread.
