If you want more than just the plain ol’ Olympics, then The Ocho has everything you need: From foosball to pogo sticks, there’s no shortage of out-there fringe sports programming that’ll keep you satisfied all day, on Friday, Aug.

You may have been to the Great Wall of China. You may have seen the Great Pyramids of Giza. You may have even witnessed a grown man satisfy a camel. But never in all your years will you witness something as ridiculous as ESPN8: The Ocho.

How to watch ESPN8

  • When: Friday, Aug. 6

If you’re looking for ESPN8 on your cable guide, you won’t find it: ESPN2 will host all 24 hours of the events after undergoing an aesthetic rebranding into ESPN8 on Friday.

What is ESPN 8 The Ocho?

First appearing in the 2004 film “Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story” starring Vince Vaughn and Ben Stiller, ESPN8: The Ocho is a play on the ESPN family of networks (there are only one or two million of them, after all) which only broadcasts the bizarre, out-there sports you wouldn’t normally watch; Things like marbles, cup-stacking, Tetris and air hockey.

ESPN8 made its real-world debut in 2017, with the network also airing in 2018. After a year hiatus, The Ocho returned in 2020 during the coronavirus pandemic, providing live “sports” for the nation.
